Now that we\u2019ve spent more than a month in Ontario and Quebec, here are some observations on that part of the country:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Ontario is much more picturesque than Jonty realized with lovely countryside and charming small towns in abundance – one could stop every ten minutes to take a photo. \u00a0
    <\/li>
  • There are more fine-sand beaches in Northern Ontario than you\u2019d imagine.
    <\/li>
  • The signal lights don\u2019t work on a lot of cars in Quebec.
    <\/li>
  • In greater Toronto, add a minimum of 20 kms\/hr to the maximum speed limit signs.
    <\/li>
  • It\u2019s possible to spend time in Quebec and not<\/em> hear a Celine Dion song.
    <\/li>
  • Ontario\u2019s slogan should be \u201cLand of Lakes and Water Lillies\u201d and not \u201cOpen for Business\u201d (thank you Premier Doug Ford).\u00a0 Monet\u2019s famous collection of water lilies at Giverny pales in comparison to Ontario\u2019s ponds and lakes.

  • There\u2019s good reason why the city of Quebec wins so many annual travel awards.
    <\/li>
  • There\u2019s no doubt it\u2019s nice to live by the ocean; however, you can\u2019t live right on its shore like you can with lakefront property.
    <\/li>
  • It\u2019s obvious when you start driving through the Canadian Shield.
    <\/li>
  • The small towns in Quebec along the St. Lawrence are right out of story books.
    <\/li>
  • It\u2019s easy to be a pacifist until you travel through mosquito country.
