We spent our third and second last nights of the trip at The Whispering Pines RV Resort at Cle Elum on the Yakima River, in the Washington State County of Kittitas, 320 kms from Port Angeles where we’ll catch our ferry home. It was another hot two days with temperatures in the low 30s, so we were glad to have some shade at our site. Chelan, the county next to Kittitas, received an emergency evacuation order due to forest fires on the 30th, which reminded us that we’ve been lucky on the trip to not have weather events like floods or fires force us to change any plans. We’ve only met friendly Americans through the US, and that continued at Whispering Pines, where we met Jon and Jena from Tucson, AZ, who gave us some good info about their home area which we hope to visit in the coming year.

Jonty and Chanal, it was great to meet you and we hope our paths cross again, soon. Our plan has us arriving home later this week and, while we’re looking forward to it, we’ll miss being in our (relatively) huge trailer!
Best regards and we’ll keep an eye out for you in Quartzite.
Jon & Jena
Hi Jon and Jena! Great to hear from you. Have fun during the last days of your trip. We look forward to seeing you soon, as well, and will let you know what our travel plans are when we’re in your neck of the woods.
All the best,
Jonty and Chantal
