August 3 (day 64) – Toronto, ON, part 1

In hot and humid conditions we visited Toronto, taking public transit (bus and GO train) from our campsite in Mississauga to Union Station in the heart of the city, which was a bustling, density-and-height shock.  Although we’ve been in big cities recently, the energy and number of people on the streets and height of the buildings (these photos don’t do justice to them) were extraordinary – it was hard not to stop often and look in amazement at the creative architecture of the skyscrapers, while avoiding the masses coming at you and going by you.

Union Station from where you can catch the GO train, the TTC subway and VIA Rail.
There are 80 skyscrapers in Toronto that stand at least 500 ft. (150 m.), two over 1,000 ft. (300 m.), and at least eight over 800 ft. (250 m.).
