June 29 (day 29) – Winnipeg, MB, Day 3

Because we’re back on the road tomorrow we spent some of the day preparing for that, doing laundry and packing up as much as possible so we’re ready to go first thing in the morning.  As a result, unfortunately, we didn’t have time to visit Winnipeg’s Children’s Museum which we feel is a missed opportunity.  Not having children we don’t know much about them … where they came from originally, what kind of art they produced, or what their traditions and culture can tell us about them.  🤪 There weren’t may good photo ops today, so we’ll share some more photos from yesterday.

The Oodena Celebration Circle, in The Forks, which pays homage to 6,000 years of Aboriginal peoples living in the area.
The Oodena Celebration Circle is surrounded by these wonderful sculptures, reminiscent of Dutch alphorns or the ribs of a wooden ship.
Each rock foundation, on which the metal structures sit, has text and images carved into it from various international traditions.
