August 25, 26 (days 86 & 87) – Missoula, MT

We used our time in Missoula to do chores mostly (groceries, laundry, trailer cleaning) in preparation for our last leg of the trip.  Our camp site was at “Jim and Mary’s” very welcoming and clean RV park with lovely flower arrangements throughout.

Are those wedding bells we hear?
On a couple of occasions driving through Montana we passed “Wide Load” trucks transporting huge cylinders from one place to another. We couldn’t figure out what the cylinders were for until we stopped at a rest stop beside this huge blade, realized it must be a wind turbine blade and that the cylinders must be sections of the support tower. We estimated the blade to be about 70m long!

    1. Wednesday morning we’ll be taking the I-90 almost to Seattle, then the horseshoe route around the south of the city up to Sequim. Then the Coho ferry from Port Angeles home on Thursday afternoon. Can’t wait!
