After spending the night of July 9 at a forgettable RV park, we had another scenic drive (we didn’t expect so many sandy beaches and beautiful little bays) along the northern shore of Lake Superior and the beginning of the route along Lake Huron before arriving at Chutes Provincial Park, where the sites were surprisingly large and private. During the drive we passed the 5,000 km mark for the trip!
Chutes Park is known for its Twin Bridges Trail along the historic River aux Sables and Seven Sisters rapids, and has several viewing platforms from which to see the rapids and “chutes.” The river was used from the late 1800s to the 1930s as a transportation route for treacherous log drives moving raw lumber from the forests to sawmills on the Great Lakes.

Wow really beautiful photos of this area. I am learning a lot from your posts. And fun to see Misty too. You’ll have to write a children’s book about Misty’s Adventures Across Canada. 🙂
Ha ha, yes, “Misty’s Excellent Adventure!” We’ll have to edit out the constant meowing while we’re driving. : )
That drive over Lake Superior seems to take forever as opposed to the route below the lake down in Michigan and Wisconsin. Great photos.
Thanks Cal.
Yes, long drive but if you have the time it’s a good one. We do plan to return via the US for the shorter route and change in scenery.
