With somewhat heavy hearts, we left Quebec and Chantal’s family, and began our return trip to Victoria, BC. On the way to Montreal we took the Chemin du Roy (King’s Road) – the oldest highway in Canada – from Quebec to Trois-Rivieres, whose picturesque towns, Neuville, Cap Santé, etc., raised our spirits, as did the real estate prices! A wonderful, historic, updated house in one of the old towns goes for about half the price of a bungalow in a suburb of Victoria.

Une route historique et de très belles vieilles maisons qui ont fait notre histoire.
Glad to see you guys are having such a wonderful trip!
Your travel log and photos are great.
I’d love to go back to Quebec City.
The old town really is beautiful. Its reputation as a slice of Europe is certainly warranted, but it stands on irs own as well. And the small towns around it, including Isle d’Orleans where C’s dad is from, are wonderful.
